AFTERCARE
To make sure your new tattoo sets properly and your skin heals well, please follow these easy day-by-day aftercare instructions to help keep your new tattoo clean and looking radiant.
These are general instructions. Your tattoo artist may also provide more specific recommendations for your particular tattoo.
DAY 1
3-4 hours after leaving the tattoo studio, gently remove the bandage your tattoo artist applied - your new tattoo needs to breathe. However, some artists might recommend leaving the bandage on overnight to prevent rubbing or leaking.
Your tattoo artist may also choose to apply a breathable/waterproof "second skin" bandage, designed to stay on for 3-4 days.

Either way, the next steps are the same.
NEXT 2-3 DAYS
During the first 2-3 days after removing the bandage, the tattooed area should be treated like a wound. Please be extra careful to avoid infection.

Using your hands, gently WASH the tattoo with mild soap, and rince in warm (not hot) water. Pat-dry and MOISTURIZE with tattoo balm or unscented lotion. Some skin types heal faster and/or dry more rapidly; in that case, apply balm or lotion more often.
TIP: Avoid using excessive amounts of balm or lotion. A thin, consistent layer should be enough.
NEXT 10-15 DAYS
Repeat the same washing routine, and continue applying balm after gently drying the tattooed area.
Some scabbing is normal and will fall off on its own. Avoid picking at it, as this could damage the tattoo.

NOTE: As larger tattoos may take more time to heal, it is recommended to extend the washing/moisturizing routine one more week.
IMPORTANT: If the bandage or second skin breaks its seal in any way, please remove it and clean the area thoroughly. If at any time you are concerned about a possible infection, consult a medical professional.
